looks today I got low blood pressure. Usually it is high and very poorly controlled. I take huge amount of medicine to take good care of my high blood pressure. Last clinical visits blood pressure was good, normal. Now looks like the dose of medicine I take to control it is overused and it is time to adjust it to lower dose or drop some medicine because of I no longer need it.
     Today I read article that FDA approved Metformin for those of us who has moderate kidney failure. I no longer take Metformin. I used to take it ten years, 2000 mg daily. Now I even do not take Rx to Metformin and this is one of the reason I afraid of hospital. They just give medicine and it is never said what this medicine and do I really need it. I am very sensitive to medicine. I take it all my life, so right now I do have very good experience how my body react to medicine which is not good for me. I learned to truts myself more then anyone else.
      There were comments after article. Someone posted how one reserved diabetes type 2 with right diet, just 1600 calories daily and do not remember amount of carbs. Also it is work outs, and of cause weight lost. Person is 63 years old. No insulin.... anymore. When one was diagnosed soon after Metformin treatment doctor Rx insulin, and one was on insulin therapy for next seven years. Now the question is, is this really true that diet and work out reserved diabetes type 2 person was diagnosed with more then seven years ago and took insulin for seven years? or it is insulin which reserved the problem with ill pancreas and now person is off insulin?
      I am 65, and no one doctor Rx insulin for me in first place. I had to fight for right treatment, and I used tricks to get my first box of insulin. Then insulin supply was terminated one time after another, even I had health care policy, even I am certified disable person. No Medicaid, so insulin supply was stopped. Second time it was doctor who Rx insulin when I was in clinic, and next day I was notified that he recalled his prescription. Insulin supply delivery was stopped. The price for insulin for me is $2000 monthly, I cannot afford it. Finally I found good doctor who Rx insulin in dose I need and stand behind the prescription. I do have insulin supply so far. Still, every time right before shipping done I am in stress. What if health care company would not send supply and what I suppose to do without insulin? It takes time to die because of high blood sugar, and it is a lot of pain till blood stops to move in blood vessels.
      They usually present us that we live sedative lifestyle. Also we do have impulsive eating disorder. Really? This is one of my hikes. I started to post many pictures of our trips and adventures on my another blog. When we took trip to Yellowstone right before the vacation I lost over 50 pounds. At that time I did not take insulin. It was 2009. I took first insulin shot in 2011. If I took it early in 2009 or as soon as I was diagnosed with diabetes, almost ten years early, I would never have pound I do have right now. But insulin was not in my treatment regime. I took SU which kill my already ill pancreas and now I have to inject 300 units every day, huge dose I would say. Still, it keep me alive and even partially mobile. I am no longer able to hike in Palisades Giant Stairs. Still, I am able to get from street where my man drop me to the Metropolitan Opera House or NY Phill. I am capable to turn from site to site on my bed. I am proud I can do it, and I am happy I can do it. I am even more happy I can do it then I was happy when I finished this hike in NY-NJ Palisades Giant Stairs , descend 740 feet, so then one must go up to the same level, and there is no other ways to turn back to the top.
       Why person, whose well being was saved with insulin is so respectfulless to the medicine which done good job? Is this really so that diet and work out provided good blood sugar control? Why one do take it for granted that insulin was bad when one took it? Why it is so much negative posts and publications how insulin is bad medicine to take? I do understand medical organization, diabetes is way too profitable to let us get loose from the hook. But why ordinary diabetic type 2 sees and post the way that medicine which cured him or her had been bad memory of his or her life? It is difficult to take insulin, it is true, but what is easy? To live with diabetes and do not know why we are ill and weak?
     I do not respect people like that. They are worse then those who bull us. They present fake cause of reverse potentially fatal medical condition, and they fool public that if they could do it then every one of us can do the same. We all can do it if insulin would be part of our medical treatment. It is not the case. We are treated with Metformin, SU, Invokana. Even Big Pharma company present that Diabetes is progressive medical condition. They define one line of treatment after another, first line, second line and so on till finally it is last line, insulin. If so, then why do not start with insulin? Because of what ADA would do? Go to contraction or to be home health aid? Now thousands if not millions get Big Money by serving our high numbers. They never will let us to be diabetes free. It is understandable. But those of public who present they cured diabetes with low carb diet or Starvation Diet, they are who? What benefit do they have?
