The treatment of diabetes mellitusby Joslin, Elliott ProctorPublisher:Lea & Febiger; 6th edition (1937)The Treatment of Diabetes. (p 263 - 268)"The treatment of diabetes is so successful today that when unsatisfactory resulted are obtained, the whole situation should be investigated anew to determine the cause." Dr. Joslin
Well, let us see, why case 14756, woman 22 years old, died in hospital?
The symptoms of diabetes started to be remarkable two years prior to see a doctor. In 1936 she come to doctor. She refused insulin but accepted diet with low carb count. At the end of the week her condition worsened.
She was administered at home at 9 am 100 units of insulin and rushed to the hospital.
She arrived at hospital at noon. 250 units insulin added + 45000cc salt solution.
Blood sugar dropped from 0.43% to 0.40% ( I really do not know how to convert these numbers into mg/dl). For me it looks that her blood sugar was already in low range.
Glucose was added to the salt solution.
At 9 pm. her breathing stopped.
Say me, why this woman died in hospital under care so prominent diabetic specialist?
Many times he insist that if diagnose of diabetes was early, diet was initiated early, then life could be saved, really? If this is true then this woman should not die. She did not eat too many carbs as it is all the time presented by Dr. Joslin. She lost weight, very dramatic weight loss. Then she lost her life. Was this woman insulin-resistant? Was she insulin -sensitive? There is no one indication what she was. But anyway insulin 350 units withing 12 hours, very high dose to inject for first injection, was injected, 250 units three hours after first 100 units, and her breathing already was danger. Say me, how doctor determined how many units of insulin safe for patient? He did not see the reality. He kill patient with wrong insulin therapy, wrong treatment regime.
It is easy to point finger to the victim. It is we are, diabetic type 2, who do not count carbs and overload ourselves with fat. This is why we ill. Still, with very wide middle area we still alive. DR. Joslin patient, woman 22 years old, died in hospital under his care. Before she lost one out of four part of her body weight. And then she was Rx low carb diet as a treatment. Why Dr. Joslin did not see the condition she was? She became unconscious at the end of the week she was in Dr. clinic.
Really, did someone ever investigated why diabetics die in hospital due to low blood sugar? Very simple, they do not heal, they kill. No one today must die because of low or high blood sugar. Diabetes is number 7 cause of death in America. Today, almost 100 years after insulin discovery.
One after another hundreds of pages, millions pages how to count carbs and calories. Every educate diabetic and public how to cure diabetes type 2 with Starvation diet. Americans became fattier, collect pounds in speedy way. On Saturday I was in Met Opera. Man tried seat on the row A, then went to row B, returned to row A, went to another seat... . Why? The seats in Met are very tight. We are obese. It is really very difficult to put own body in tiny spot. I do, I know this. 20 years ago there were no so many people like myself in Met or in NY Phill. Today we are all come to listen to the music. We keep our seat for many years. Someone keep this seat from the first opera back in 1966, and even before, in old Met Opera Building. 20 yeas ago seats fit us perfectly. Today it is challenge for many of us to push ourselves into seat. Does it because of we eat too much fat? Not at all. We simple able to survive. In past people did not survive heart attacks or strokes. Today we do. And as soon as we get better we return to our seats in Lincoln Center.
Dr. Joslin patient 22 years old, case 14756 died under his care. Also he insist that it was unnecessary death, he present that diabetics life duration can last as long as 20 years.
In Contrary with Dr. Joslin Dr. Banting's patient
Elizabeth Hughes Gossett (August 19, 1907 – April 21, 1981)
Elizabeth Hughes Gossett (August 19, 1907 – April 21, 1981)
Elizabeth developed diabetes in 1918 at age 11
lived with diabetes 63 years.
She took insulin every day. She increased her diet slowly. She was first North American Diabetic who injected insulin, and survived.
Dr. Joslin patient case 14756 should not die. She was only 22 years old. No any obesity. Proper insulin regime, and she would recovery. 350 units withing 12 hours. First insulin injections. It is already 1937 when insulin was on market and widely used. Why in hospital doctors used this regime? Did not they know about insulin reaction how the named medical condition when sugar in blood is too low? They do. They know.
Today diabetics still die in hospital because of low blood sugar. Why? Medical care simple care about nothing but money. Why it still rule today if blood sugar is low then diabetic should not take insulin? Because it is presented, low blood sugar is result of insulin overdose, too much insulin in blood. Our blood considered as cup of tea. If sugar is low, then add two spoons of sugar. It sugar is high, then stop to eat, take more water. Case 14756. So simple. But there are nere were any investigation why diabetics die in hospitals, or at home. Why today millions of Americans are not diagnosed with diabetes even all medical care present that early diagnose is the key to success of treatment?
Anyway, how many lives diet took?
How many lives diet saved?
Case 14756 lost her life. Diet did not safe her, nether it cured her. Barbarian Ignorant Medical Care kill its victim, as well as millions of others. Say me, how it is possible to inject 100 units in first injection? How it is possible to be sure that 350 units withing 12 hours are safe for patient if patient is already in critical condition? Did they check up is she had sugar in blood before injection 250 units in hospital? There is nothing in case study how they treated diabetic. If she refused to take insulin then where from insulin was at her home when she injected 100 units? Why did she was injected 100 unit? And finally, why she was sent home instead to start treatment with insulin in hospital under constant medical care?
