Foslin Diabetes Center in Mice Model. May 3, 2017

Joslin Diabetes Center is leading institute in diabetes  researchers and treatments. It run down to the pre-insulin era when Dr. Joslin treated his first diabetic patients, his mother including. Now a new Center bear his proud name. So, what they studied, and what they discovered in diabetes development, treatment, and prevention?
Over the decades, scientists have repeatedly shown that patients with increased levels of the hormone insulin in their blood can experience increased risks of cancer. Surprisingly, however, Joslin Diabetes Center researchers now have discovered that impaired effects of insulin also can boost these risks.
The question is, why it took decades to learn that ether increased level of insulin, or decreased level of insulin, the result would be the same, risk of cancer development? Another question is, if insulin leads to development risk of cancer then why diabetics type 1 have to take insulin? Are they free from this risk? They inject insulin daily, and still they live over 60 and +++ years after being diagnosed with diabetes type 1. In contrary, diabetics type 2, who presented as insulin-resistant type 2 diabetics and according to the medical presentation have increased level of insulin secretion, live less then 10 years after being diagnosed with diabetes type 2.
In earlier work as a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of George King, M.D., Joslin's chief scientific officer, Rask-Madsen studied the links between insulin resistance and arterial disease. This research helped to show that insulin resistance in vascular endothelial cells can create a pro-inflammatory state marked by the heightened presence of certain cell adhesion proteins that make immune cells stick to endothelial cells, the first step in enabling the immune cells to travel from the blood stream to tissues.
Well, it is all sound very scientific if take words, and do not pay any attention to the meaning of those words. The meaning starts with the definition, what they study. And there we are. Why it is all the time rats and mice to study and present as it it discovery how human body works? Really, is rat and mice the same as it is human? Not at all. The beta cell of human and beta cell of rat are very different. And if it is so, then why publish middle product and pretend it is 'investigation'?
Second point is, what is insulin resistance? How insulin resistance was defined, and how mice were determined they are insulin resistant?
Really, when Dr. Banting started his studies in Toronto he worked with dogs, not with rats. Rat is very small animal, and mice even smaller. To be sure that animal is diabetic the part of pancreas in animal was removed, and this was how animal developed diabetes. Now, about mice, how Joslin Diabetes Center find out mice with diabetes, insulin resistant mice?
If we take this question in the Center of the study, if really studies can be seen as reliable? Not at all. Then really what all those studies about? All about money. And most sad in this story, in present time all studies study mice, very cheap animals, easy to be replaced. Study mice, and then present, they discovery why we do have diabetes and how diabetes leads us right to the grave.
Joslin Diabetes Center is leading Diabetes Center in America to study diabetes and how treatment works.  No any questions, why today diabetes is number 7 cause of Death in America. WHO even promise, they will lead diabetes development up to the number 4 cause of Death, as it is in NYC today.

Connecting the dots between insulin resistance, unhealthy blood vessels and cancer

Animal studies examine risk factors that may overlap between colorectal cancer and cardiovascular disease

Date: May 1, 2017
Source: Joslin Diabetes Center
Summary:
This research highlights biological mechanisms driven by insulin resistance that impair blood vessel health and may be shared by both cancer and cardiovascular disease.
