SATURDAY, June 10, 2017 (HealthDay News) -- People with type 2 diabetes who aren't taking insulin don't necessarily need to check their blood sugar levels, a new study contends.WOW! So interesting! What about those of us who take SU, Glipizade and other medicine of this family? What is difference between Glipizide (SU) and insulin? Insulin added to blood stream in injections, to help diabetic's pancreas to recovery. SU effect diabetic's ill pancreas and speed it termination. In both cases insulin added to blood stream unnaturally, so in both cases low blood sugar is constant companion of diabetic. The difference between Diabetic type 2 who takes SU and diabetic type 1 who takes Insulin is, type 1 diabetic can effect and reduce danger of low blood sugar by reducing he dose of injected insulin. For diabetic type 2 there is no one option. we have to take fixed dose of medicine.
SU is not so easy to take as it is all the time avoided by medical pro to mention. SU lead not only to distorting B Cells but also very unpredictable and danger. SU given in tablets two times daily. Regardless of the level of fasting sugar or any other testing levels of sugar in blood, there are fixed dose of SU diabetic type 2 must take. If dose of medicine is small then it does not provide treating effect, so blood sugar still high. In any other cases SU lead to low blood sugar. This take toll at amy moment during the day.
Many of these patients use "finger prick" blood sugar monitors, but "testing blood sugar didn't have any impact on their blood sugar," said study author Dr. Laura Young, an assistant professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina. Why testing blood sugar effect type 1 diabetics, and has no impact on type 2 diabetic who takes SU? Because of type 1 diabetic will adjust dose of insulin injection, and diabetic type 2 will take the same dose day after day, month after month, year after year. This is why type 2 diabetes is number 7 cause of death. we never recovery. We are slow ding. It is not because of our health or life style, wrong number of finger pricks, or not disciplined behavior. It is medicine ewe take. If diabetic type 2, the hell know how doctors diagnosed this type of diabetes and what are differences in diagnostic tests between type 1 and type 2, then we will recovery, out pancreas would be re-generated partially or in full. One or two more generations and there would not be tread of diabetes type 2. This never would happen. Medical care never let diabetic get out of hook.
"The best way to control blood sugar is to take your medication the way your doctor asks you to and to take good care of yourself," she said. "The key is really taking your medications."Which medication I have to take? First line is 'life style modifications'. This line Rx to me every time I am in clinic, any clinic. I am lost right now, how many times I have to modify my life style, from what to what?
Second type of medicine is Metformin. Try ti reduce your blood sugar level when one is really diabetic in very advanced state. I did my studies. I took off Metformin and check up blood sugar every day one hour reading regime. My blood sugar did not go up. The matter of fact, it even started to drop. After week or two I re-started to take Metformin, and blood sugar went up. I got poison effect. Since that I tried one time more to re-start Metformin, and it dis not wok for me. Sometimes in hospital I do have this medicine. In this case all my body star tobe covered by rush. Allergy. Medical care usually do not believe when I said I do have allergy to Metformin and diuretics.
Third type is SU. I already posted what is it and how it works. Thank you so much. Nether one medicine of this type is good for me. I take no one. Period.
"But if someone is on insulin, they absolutely need to be tested regularly," she said. Insulin predisposes people to have blood sugar that's too low, a condition called hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia can cause dizziness and weakness and, if not treated, lead to coma, Young said.Absolutely not. I take insulin, high dose of it, 300 units daily, and I do not prick my fingers so often. I really do not use it. I take insulin in regular pattern, the same regime even I do have low blood sugar today. It is not so direct how dose of insulin in injection connected with health of pancreas.
But I just try to find out, what all this discussions is about? The testing of blood sugar is really have no one effect on the level of sugar in blood. If it really did effected blood sugar level then why do not take testing as part or treatment regime? It is not. We have to take medicine, or take insulin injections to effect the level of sugar in blood. Still testing of blood sugar effect on decision making. If right now my sugar is too low, I take insulin shot before I start to take any meal. If blood sugar around normal level, or higher but not too high, I will take insulin shot, and probably even will not take meal, just bottle of coffee. If low blood sugar follow one day after another, then it is time to adjust dose of insulin. Still, in no one reason finger pricks effect blood sugar level. It is level of sugar on monitor display effect the dose of medicine I have to take.
For diabetics type 2, why do we do not need blood sugar testing, it is simple. testing blood sugar level will provide info that medicine doctor Rx does not work, and doctor must change treatment regime. They do not like it. So, they insist, we are, diabetics type 2, do not need to be healthy, without amputated parts of our bodies, and to Rx glucose strips is too big deal for society to provide care for member who are no longer able to support themselves.
"The value of self-monitoring of blood sugar levels in patients not treated with insulin is minimal," said Dr. Joel Zonszein, director of the Clinical Diabetes Center at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.It is 95% of diabetic population who are type 2 diabetics, those who are not treated with insulin, insulin Resistant, or Insulin Independent diabetics.Diabetes is number 4 cause of death in NYC. DO not ask me, why? One better to ask Dr. Joel Zonszein, director of the Clinical Diabetes Center at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City why in NYC we die because of high or low blood sugar? Simple shot of insulin given on-time will safe our lives. 95% of us do not have this opportunity
"In my practice, I advocate that every patient with diabetes needs to have a monitor, needs to know how to check blood sugars, and needs to check blood sugars from time to time, when they are sick and when treatment is changed," he said.Probably this practice work well for Medical Educatiors. It never worked for me. So, I simple get education from different perspective. I test blood sugar not only every day, but a few times daily, and sotimes I do one-hour-blood - sugar testing studies, to fins out where I am, how treatment I take effect my blood, and if I do need some changes in my routine. It is really interesting, why I need to check blood sugar level if there are changes in treatment regime? Why really do I need all those changes? If I do not monitor blood sugar level then how do I know I need changes in treatment regime?
Zonszein agreed that the main reason to check blood sugar is not to see if it's too high, but to check if it's too low.
Finally, what all this discussions all about? It is All About Nothing. Real problem danger and life threatening, replaced by fancy talks about amount of glucose strips to be used by Type 2 diabetics. No one real discussion, how medicine diabetics type 2 take effect our health?
