Sugar is 166 mg/dl fasting.
It is result of uneven insulin injections as I do think.
Yesterday it was all day different. I took shot at 1:56 am. Fist shot for November 12, but actually it was last shot for November 11, 2017. On Saturday we went to The Met. So, I took shot before we left home. I took less dose in attempt to prevent possible low sugar. Looks like I was right, but low was not actually prevented. I do not know why it is all the time in Lincoln Center I do have low sugar. No clue about it, but looks like it is pattern. Before curtain up I took one protein bar, looks like low sugar already started to surface. In first intermission I took Excedrin, Nitrostat, and clod coffee one bottle. All even I was in great discomfort, like passing out. I was sleepy, severe leg pain, and discomfort. I was not able to find place for my painful legs. I took Nitrostat every intermission, before the first act, and after the opera. Actually I was happy, finally eve was over.
Of cause we could go home. But I so love Turandot, and I love to be in The Met. Also it is not so easy to get up and walk away when I am in such pain. I hoped that finally pain go out and eased. So, I stayd on my seat in Family circle row A till the end of the opera and when all FC got almost empty. I am very slow in walking, so I try to go out as soon as I can, or to be almost last when people already left.
We return home after midnight. I took my meal, and injected 100 units of insulin. Then I went to sleep. All wrap from leg was taken off. I wish I have good sleep.
The next day I woke up at 1;30 pm. I really slept well and long. But even so I still sleepy and finally after 6 pm I returned to bed and fall asleep instantly. The total dose for insulin was less for two days then I had to take. This is why today fasting is higher then it must be.
Now I started to take two types of insulin, Toujeo Solo Star, and Lantus Solo Star. I posted that I could not take Toujeo. It is true. I cannot replace Lantus Solo Star by Toujeo Solo Star. In stead I started to take combination of two. It is 20 units of Toujeo and 80 units of Lantus, total 100 units in one shot. Probably this is why now the dose of insulin is higher then it was before. In past when first time I started to take Toujeo Solo Star I noted that dose of insulin increased. I started to feel uncomfortable. Also there are something happened. Right now I do not see so far is the regime I try to tolerate right or wrong for me. I try many different ways. Will see how this will work or not.
Both types of insulin are long acting types. But Toujeo has many add-on such as zinc and micro elements. Lantus Solo Star does not have it. So, I try to add on Toujeo. Probably it will work. Probably my bad health right now is result of changed regime. Probably Toujeo is worse then I see it.
Now I do have swelling. One episode come after another. It is very severe swelling if left untreated. I try to deal with it with constant wrapping. But it works only temporary. After one episode took care off, another come in. The severe pain in legs. It is burning from outside to inside. It is painful when lightly touched. Pain is deeper inside right in the bone. I have to take wrap off, cannot tolerate pain.
It is pattern. At first I do have severe headache at night. I even cannot wake up, still sleeping. This is why I cannot take Excedrin when pain started. Then next day it is swelling, legs, arms, hands, face. The swelling leads to developing wounds. Some of them star to leak. If left as it is wounds would be hard to heal. This is why I have to wrap and unwrap my legs, and stay on my study room all night long till finally swelling start to ease and pain start to go away. Probably after that I can take short sleep.
Now there is the question, is this pattern due to insulin regime changes? Is Toujeo do good job for me? Or all my problems I do have right now due to insulin regime changing?
Usually in all side effects it is low sugar mentioned. It is never mentioned other problems. Do we have them? Do we not?
I try to find answers. I try to find my way.
