In all publications and guidance how to treat diabetes type 2 there is first line treatment, Diet. But diet alone cannot treat any medical condition, and only lack of understanding and right treatment can put diet on the first place. There is no one medical condition ever war treated and cured, or reversed with diet, any diet, at any time of human history. it never did, it never will, and it does not cure or reverse diabetes type 2 in spite of all assurance of MD like Dr. Oz. or any like him. It is possible to eat ice-cream with cottage cheese, but what is difference if one eat cottage cheese in the morning and ice-cream in the eve? Anyway they both will finish up in one digestive system. But still, there are studies which diet is better, what food to eat, and so so on.
Now, if we put aside any diet then what MD will talk about during 20 min of our visit? Also, if there is no diet then what treatment MD must Rx?
Let us turn studies in another direction. I think it is right on the time. According to ADA there are 252,806 death certificates listing diabetes as an underlying or contributing cause of death im 2015. Hard to believe that all these Death resulted from poor choice in food.
There are a lot of medications developed by Big Pharma. Some of them are good, some of them really too bad to take. How to see if treatment we take right for every one of us?
Well, when my list of medicine took two pages, I started to suspect that my poor medical condition resulted not only Diabetes type 2 but also by medicine I have to take. A few time s I asked MD to check up this list. There were no practical response. Why? MD has no one idea, which medicine I have to take and which medicine is wrong for me. I have to look at my medical box and check up what is good medicine and what is Junk medicine, and what medicine is good but not for me.
Metformin. First line in Diabetes type 2 treatment regime. There are a lot of studies how Metformin decrease level of sugar in blood. There are a lot of posts how people reversed diabetes type 2 with diet and Metformin from A1c 12.2% down to 6% just withing 6 month. I do trust no one. So I run my own study how Metformin decreases my own level of sugar in my real blood.
The matter of fact, Metformin did have no one effect on my blood sugar level. If so then why do I meed this medicine? It has very danger side effects. Also it destroy liver. 40% of diabetics type 2 cannot tolerate Metformin because to poison effect. So, I took this medicine out of my medical box. I do not need it. It does not matter if this medicine is expensive or cheap. I do not need it, and I am better without it.
SU. I took that mdicine from 2002 to 2010. I all the time was on high - low swings. Uncontrollable and not predictable low blood sugar. But still, level of sugar in blood still slow clamping up. SU do not recommend to take with Insulin. So, there are the choice: SU or Insulin. My choice was - Insulin. So since 2011 when I injected first 22 units to present time I take Insulin, and Insulin only to reduce and control blood sugar level.
With Insulin in my medical box and without Metformin in it, my cholesterol level started to go down, back to normal. I take Lipitor to control cholesterol. Even cholesterol level is normal right now I still take Lipitor. With Metformin and SU my cholesterol level was too high, all the time. year after year it was abnormally elevated. I was tols, it is all because of my wrong diet. Today I eat the same meal, but cholesterol level is normal. No one medicine in past worked so good. I took all medicine in different time: Atrovastatin, simvastatin, provastatin, and so so on.
I used to have high TG level. I was told, it is because of wrong diet. Not at all. It is heart, poor heart condition. Now TG is much better. My A1c is about 4.5%. It is very very good. With level of sugar higher then 599 mg/dl I was able to decrease level of sugar back to normal. Yes, I have to inject high dose of insulin, result of SU which destroyed my insulin secreting Beta Cells.
What really I wish to say? To see why really glucose level go up and up, and why Mortality of Diabetics type 2 so high, it is best way to check up what medicine we take. If this medicine decrease number on the glucose meter, Just take a look what blood work show, and there are no need any studies when one medicine is better then another, and so so on. Just take a look at, if blood sugar going under control? If not then medicine is wrong. Medicine must be changed. Finally, with studies like that every one will be insulin dependent diabetics type 2, regardless of age or size of middle area.
BTW what I think, if MD cannot find out which medicine patient need and which medicine better to stop, do they really can say what we have to eat, and what we cannot eat? Just take a look at the studies. Compare studies with another year, and another, and so so on. What is there? There are all the time that "previously thought..." If we take diet seriously then what we suppose to do when it is said, green salad do not have nutrition, so what I suppose to eat? Meat? Fish? Fish has Mercury. Red meat increase cholesterol level. What we have to eat? Right. We are sin because of we have to eat every day, day after day. To ridicule and mock patient much easy.
