What exactly is insulin? How does it factor into type 1 diabetes, and type 2? And how does exercise affect your insulin levels? What is insulin?
How Much Do You Know About Insulin?

Your body breaks down certain foods you eat into a sugar called glucose that it uses for energy. Insulin, which is made by your pancreas, helps keep the right amount of glucose in your bloodstream. If you don’t have enough insulin, too much sugar stays in your blood.I an sorry, is this kindergarten education program? I hoped that medical e-jurnal such as WebMed for educated people who are able to read, understand reading, and use internet. Obviously I am wrong. Really, if the question is, what is insulin? then why answer is so primitive? Really, who know how insulin works inside of body and what job it does?
I am diabetic, with very high blood sugar level and high dose of insulin. What I can say, insulin prevent infections and treat them, helps to heal broken nails and make nails looks great and bright, and so so so on. Why it is all the time when question is insulin? the answers about sugar?
The answer is wrong!
If you have type 1 diabetes
If you have type 1 diabetes, you need to take insulin shots to manage your blood sugar. If you have type 2 diabetes, your body makes insulin, but it doesn’t use it well. You might need insulin shots to help your body use glucose, or you could need another medication, like metformin.Really? How many diabetics type 2 where treated with metformin? Everyone. How many diabetics improved blood sugar with metformin? No one. If you do have type 2 diabetes start to take insulin long acting slow release insulin Lantus Solo Star, Lantus, or any other types of insulin from this family. Soon every one would see great effect of insulin.
The question is, why with sugar level the same in time of diagnose one part of people treated with insulin and 95% of others with the same medical condition treated with diet? It is well known diet never cured diabetes even it was used to treat diabetics over 2000 years. Insulin is less then 100 years on market, and yet used properly it saved millions of lives. Even first types of insulin prolonged lives.
Why Diabetic 'might need' something to do about disease? 'might need' neans that one can do it, or just avoid it. How the medical publishr can publish this absurd? Diabetes is potentially fatal diseas. It must be started to be treated as soon as it was detected that level of sugar is elevated. At that time diabetes is already in full bloom. The problem started much early but our body system was able to fight this problem When sugar left outside the target, diabetes took over.
Finally, how MD may say that diabetics type 1 do not make insulin? Insulin is not detectable in present time. So, medical publisher must not educate public with fake presentations. It is not education. It is dirty propaganda against ill, potentially mortally ill part of our society.
Shame of You!!!!!!!!!!!!
How much insulin you take depends on:
This is true for both type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Your doctor will figure out how much you need based on things like your weight, how active you are, how well your body uses insulin, what you eat, and any other conditions you have.Come on! No one doctor know answer to this question. Because of all questions above were answered incorrectly, this answer is also wrong. Whait, calories, carbs, work outs, and so so so on does not possible to count dose of insulin. Say me, to dust room is work out or not? Does work countable? One has office work, another work in salad bar, and walks miles every day aroun this bar. How many calories were used? How much insulin job took from diabetic?
The Answer is Wrong!
Regular physical activity can lower your blood glucose and help you take less insulin or other diabetes medication. Ask your doctor about your routine. How intense the activity is and how long you do it can make a big difference in how your body reacts. Test your blood sugar before, during, and after exercise. It is really good answer. Of cause with insulin we are better and getting healthier every day we inject insulin. What about diabetics type 2? They do not take insulin. They take pills. What diabetics type 2 must do when sugar is lower? They cannot decrease the dose of pills without MD approval. Really, I never met any education how to deal with pills when work out decreased level of sugar. This info or education never was published.
Please, improve your answers. Remember, 95% of diabetic population taake pills, not insulin. So why the answer only for 5% what to do?
If you take insulin, drinking alcohol:
Alcohol stops your liver from making glucose. Women with diabetes should have no more than one drink a day and men should have no more than two. Don’t drink on an empty stomach or when your blood sugar is already low. Check your blood sugar before, during, and for the next 24 hours after drinking.Sorry, I did not get the humor. Metformin as alcohol work to stop liver from making glucose. Why metformin presented as safe pills? This answer is perfect to see why all diabetics have problems with liver. In addition to effect of diabetes on the liver we have to take pi;;s which destroy the liver. we take these pills from time we enter into clinic to the rest of our lives. Better to take your life into own hands, and think twice before trust in MD.
