Sugar is 107 mg/dl
Last night I forgot to put in log book that I already took insulin shot.To be sure do not go high I injected 40 units more, just in case I did not run high. There were no low sugar, so I was pretty fine. Total dose on insulin for day was 308 units.
Looks like I do have flu. I do not have flu shot for this Winter. A few my clinic visits were canceled by clinic, so last time I had visit in May 2016. The result is, no flu shot for this Winter. I usually did have them in October so flu season passed more easy then without flu shot. Now, I do not have so severe flu, just mild. Still, I do not feel good, most time sleep, and very hardly able to walk and breath. It is already December. Soon day will get longer, and so we will start to feel better. Right now it is still Winter.
I am looking to my log book. It is really interesting to analyze own studies. It is all the time our Medical Industry loudly scream, we are diabetics because of we do lead wrong unhealthy life style, and what they do suggest? ADA suggest to take Starvation Diet to fight diabetes. It is only 8 weeks, and one would be diabetes-free. Really? Sow me one who really got this diet and no no diabetes. Anyway I am not Rat in Lab. So, instead to relay on very unreliable studies I run my own study.
Yes, it is true, level of sugar depend on meal I eat. But it is only in short time. For long time it works differently. It is all the time presented that green salad is best way to healthy diet, really? Green salad does not sustain. Soon after one will eat some meat. If taken for long time and pretending to use it us regular diet, day after day, it is Starvation. Starvation never was good for health. This is why people who take reduced meal in attempt to eat less, all the time need snack. With proper eating habit there is no need in snack, any snack.
For diabetics it is suggested that we eat a small portion but often, more often then non-diabetics. What does it mean? How healthy this life style? Does medical industry see that diabetic style 2 live in the same society as every non-diabetic? If so then say me, can I take meal break more often then anyone else? Not at all. I do have the same time for meal as every one.All another time we have to work. Diabetes is prevalent in middle class and low income part of human population.
When sugar is high, it is the same as when sugar is low. I mean 'high' is not such as 200 mg/dl but over 300 mg/dl, and with high +, diabetic is hungry. Every one do know very well this Red Flag, still, looks not so many understand, how does it looks from inside. I am so hungry that after I finished my meal I am more hungry then before I took my first bite. It took time for me to get use it, and understand, what is it and how to fight it. The solution is simple, shot of insulin before any meal, to fight high blood sugar or low blood sugar. The shot of insulin solve ether one of this problem.
It is easy to say that shot of insulin will lead to deeper skip into low blood sugar. In reality it does not. Of cause if one took shot of insulin and attempt to avoid eating, to starve yourself, then it is true, sugar will go fatally low. I mean, shot of insulin before meal, any big meal.
Why it is the same, when sugar is high or sugar is low? Simple, it is level of sugar we check, not the level of insulin. Insulin can be low at the same time when our blood sugar level is low. The result is, as soon as we start to eat, we get hungry, extremely hungry, because of there is no insulin in blood. In diabetic type 2 insulin secretion is slow, takes long time to meet demand of body to process the meal. With insulin shot the process started as it is non-diabetic, and the extreme hunger avoided.
Our Medical Care providers educate that we have to take shot acting insulin before meal to process meal. This is another misunderstanding in diabetes blood sugar control. Just what really this is about? I took insulin shot, took meal, and this meal processed fast. Where it gone? What after meal gone? Should I start this process over?
As I said many times, diabetes is not about sugar in blood. It is limit in insulin secretion. When this understanding finally will put into mind, the situation would be different. There is no need to take insulin shot which will process meal and reduce sugar level because of there is no sugar no insulin, and no energy to pump the blood or to push air by our lungs. Any organ we do have needs energy to function, no stopping energy flow.
