A new investigational drug originally developed for type 2 diabetes is being readied for human clinical trials in search of the world's first treatment to impede the progression of Parkinson's disease following publication of research findings in the journal Science Translational Medicine.I am diabetic type 2. First time I crossed this type of medicine for diabetes type 2. I never used it, so there is no personal experience. Also I do not have Parkinson's disease so I cannot say how it work for this population. Still, before I jump into wagon and let myself to be used as free Lab Rat, I prefer to take a look at, what this medicine is about?
MSDC-0160 is a thiazolidinedione insulin sensitizer without the peroxisome proliferator–activated receptor-γ (PPAR-γ)-dependent side effects. Co-incubation of islets with MSDC-0160 and IGF-1 reduces the resistance of insulin-signaling pathway and preserves insulin content. MSDC-0160 at 50μM alone also prevents the loss of insulin content significantly. Besides that, treatment of MSDC-0160 increases the phosphorylation of AMPK and reduces mTOR phosphorylation. Moreover, MSDC-0160 is also found to display pro-survival effects in human islets via reducing the level of cleaved caspase-3 and increasing the expression of apoptosis-related genes such as bcl2. In addition, MSDC-0160 exerts prevention of nuclear translocation with β-catenin localized on the cell membrane or cytoplasm in human β-cells [1].Why do I need insulin sensitizer in first place? How it suppose to work for me, diabetic type 2? No answer so far. But still humans already set up on Rat Job. I simple copied what is this medicine about. I was not able to understand, how it work and what it is for? Would I take it? No chance. Why? Because of the point it is insulin sensitizer, it is not insulin I need to be added into my blood stream because of I do have chronically ill pancreas which is not capable to secrete insulin according to demand my body system. To say it simple, why do I need raw beef I cannot eat as it is? I need cooked beef on my plate. Am I right? In stead they suggest I use medicine which will help my system to sensitize insulin, and what? If as diabetic type 2 my body system does not use insulin properly, insulin which was secreted by my own pancreas, then how it is possible to be used and more important be sensitized in first place?

Any why, it is too complicated for me to understand.
Does someone so sure that patient with Parkinson's disease will understand it better then I? I do not think so. Not because of they are not so smart then I. Simple, there is nothing to understand. It is all simple meaningless. All this studies and medicine developing just for profit. So simple.
MSDC-0160 was developed by Kalamazoo, Michigan-based Metabolic Solutions Development Company (MSDC) to treat type 2 diabetes. In 2012, Brundin recognized it as an exciting drug candidate because of its mode of action, proven safety in people, local availability and the start-up company's interest in collaborating on drug repurposing initiatives. After four years of work, the effects of the drug in the laboratory exceeded Brundin's expectations. From 7 to 10 millions patients with Parkinson's disease worldwide.
Parkinson's disease afflicts between 7-10 million people worldwide, including an estimated 1 million Americans, and these numbers are expected to increase dramatically as the average human lifespan increases. There is currently no cure, and first-line treatment has remained relatively unchanged since the introduction of levodopa in the 1960s.Every one out of ten is diabetic. 95% are diabetics type 2. Is not this so exciting? For them of cause it is. For me? Not so. I simple do not need this medicine with side effects or with no any effect.
I will take insulin, insulin only, Lantus Solo Star in dose which is high still effective. From 400 units dose of insulin I took it is decreased to less then 300 units daily. Every year dose of insulin drops. So, the price for insulin therapy drops. If taken at time there would not be severe side effects, or severe health complications. The problem with insulin, it come to out treatment regime way too late. Too late. In 2011 when I just took my first insulin shot, 11 units, the daily dose of 60 units was good for me. But insulin is not for diabetics type 2. One time after another insulin supply for me was terminated. One doctor after another refused to Rx insulin for me. They are easy to Rx Invokana or Metformin, and of cause there are never problem with Rx to Life style modifications. But insulin... they are very uncomfortable to Rx it.
Now I need 300 units daily dose of injections. Way too expensive. I cannot afford to pay for it. It is more them $2000 monthly. I cannot take any other types of insulin, even if it is less expensive. They do not work for me. With wrong type of insulin or insulin regime therapy health condition get worse. With right type of insulin and right regime of treatment recovery is best. There are no wounds on body, no rash. Cholesterol level drops back to normal. One after another medicine go out of medical box, no need in these medicine. Blood pressure getting back to normal. This is the Power of Insulin, Right Treatment Plan for Diabetic Type 2.
There is no way I will take this type of medicine, Insulin Sensitizer. If I will not take it right now then in future I will not have Parkinson disease, so there is no need to use it at all. So simple. Just take right decision in first place, and then there is no regret in future.
