OK, let us take a look, what interesting assiatant professor said, and how he discribes Diabetes from his high stage in Washington Medical Center.
Here are what different fasting blood sugar levels mean (before meals):
Fasting Blood
Sugar Levels
Before Meals means:
0-70 Danger. Too low. Get sugar immediately.
70-90 Possibly too low. Get sugar if you feel hungry, nervous, or weak.
90-160 Normal. This is the ideal range.
160-240 Too high. Work on bringing blood sugar down (see above).
240-300 This is very high and indicates that diabetes is out of control.
300-up Danger. Call your doctor immediately.
I am really sorry, MD, did you ever read ADA recommendations how to diagnose diabetes? Did you ever saw the meter with normal and abnormal ranger in blood sugar level? Looks like you never did. So, it is my suggest to you, open school text book and read the basic before start to educate other people. Just start from own education. Is this too much to ask?
The best way to keep blood sugar low is to eat a healthy diet and do regular exercise. Just 20 minutes of walking 4 or 5 times a week can do wonders for lowering blood sugar.
Sorry MD, you just said that diabetes is
Diabetes is a disease where the blood sugar runs too high, usually due to not enough insulin.
so, if I will walk 20 min the demand in insulin would be higher, right? so blood sugar will go up, right? Then how it suppose to go down? Any exercise lead to increased demand in energy, right? Energy come from food turned into energy with assistance of insulin. If insulin is low, not sufficient, then the level of energy would be low with exercise, right?  It is understandable why did you put together at the same time, the meal consumption decrees, so level of sugar would drop, so demand in insulin would be lowered, and  work out which demand energy consumption. What is very controversial that it is best way to keep blood sugar low. This is why diabetics type 2, who treated with this regime of treatment lost lives withing ten years after being diagnosed with diabetes. As you said, diabetes is low level of insulin, and it is slow secreted by ill diabetic pancreas. There is no one healthy diet or work outs to increase the level of insulin.  At least our medical industry did not suggest any regime of therapy to even check up what is the level of insulin in demand for every day living to be considered as 'healthy level of insulin'.
Checking blood sugar with a finger stick is an important part of controlling diabetes.
Wrong statement, not logical.  Finger stick does not provide blood sugar control. In no one way. We can see if we need more insulin to inject or our blood sugar is getting low so the dose of insulin must be decreased, but to control, which means to effect on the level of sugar with finger stick is not possible. Does not matter how often we check blood sugar, if we do not injected insulin sugar will not go down. If sugar is already too low, then does not matter how many times I stick my fingers, sugar will still low. Am I right?
If patients with hypoglycemia are awake, they should immediately drink a glass of fruit juice or a non-diet soft drink (one that has sugar in it). Other alternatives include eating a handful of candy, 3 or 4 teaspoons of honey, or 3-4 glucose tablets. They should check their blood sugar again in 15 minutes and then several more times over the next few hours until their blood sugar is well above 100 and stays above 100. If the blood sugar drops low again, then medical advice should be sought immediately.
Don't you see the discrepancy in your own statements? With low blood sugar the action, drink glass of juice or eat candy right away must be taken. If level of sugar still getting down then it is not the additional finger stick diabetic must take, but to seek medical advice right away. So, it is easy to see, how wrong your education go.
Keeping your blood sugar low can prevent damage to your eyes, kidneys, and nerves.
In other words, if  I do not have diabetes then I do not have diabetes complications, right? But as I did understand you pretended to educate me how to prevent diabetes complications if I am diabetic, right? Did I miss something? Or it is you who changed mind and switched from education subject to money making scam?
