Dr Eric Topol was described in the New York Times as "one of medicine's most innovative thinkers about the digital future." He's also Medscape's editor-in-chief, and here he provides his annual list of the top tech advances that made headlines this past year. So, it is really interesting, what this modern medicine thinker think today? There are many tweets, as for every one who addicted to tweets, I did read only one. I found it is very interesting. Just really what I wanted to find to support that I am thinking in the right way as one of the most innovative medicine thinker. Do you think in the same way? Why not. If so then we are all innovative thinkers in modern medicine.
Your Medical Data.
According to Eric Topol, our medical data widely sold, stolen and hacked.
Do we know it? If we do not have prove it does not mean that we sure it never happened. Our medical records are opened to every one but us. It is we are, patients, have no one idea what is in our medical records. The real question is, why? Do they worry we will go to another doctor with this records? Of cause not. Any MD will say he / she does not trust to this record. And of cause will run own tests. Health plan pay for every test. After test there is follow up visit. Usually three visits to be paid.
So this is not the tread.
Then why MD never show our medical records? Why we cannot have copies of our records?
Because of they do know very well, we can read our records and understand the problem. So, to say, there is no problem would be complicated. To send patient out of ER or hospital with stroke in acute state would be complicated. It is record for court. If there is no record in my hands then there is no prove that stroke happened right in the time I was in ER.
Of cause no one MD would be ever responsible for the malpractice. How one can be responsible for the art? Medicine is Art, and every MD practice in Art in the way MD pleased. There is no any obligations to the Patient, better to say, to the Victim of Medical Practice.
"Your EHR was designed to maximize billing, not to help your health" Eric Topol. Tweeted.Do we know this so pathetic statement? We do. Every one of us who happened to be ill, sick, or do have family member to care for. we all do know this so opened True. Can we handle it? Do we have any choice?
What is the resolution to the problem, according to our most innovative medern medicine thinker?
"You need to own your data; it should be a civil right.Really? Just say me how to know my reading blood sugar will safe my life? I do know 600mg/dl is way too high and way to danger. I do not need to go to MD to see or have this data. What I do know I need insulin, to inject insulin as soon as I can. We I go to clinic. And what? That's right, there is no insulin or ER for me. But a lot of Barking Therapy. Why is this so? Because of 600 mg/dl is was too high, and doctor do know it, I need insulin be injected right away. Insulin injections lead to low sugar. Then higher level of sugar in blood then low , dangerously low it would drop after injection. So, stopless Barking Therapy replace Insulin Therapy. At least patient would not die because of medical malpractice.
It can safe your life."
This is reality of data and value of medical information patient need.
Eric Topol is MD. He knows his Art perfectly. When we read this statement what do we think? It is very important to have record, scans, and so on. Dig dipper. What really is important when we are in clinic? Our past records? Or our present diagnose? Our present medical condition? If in past someone low skilled MD took reading and there were no high level of sugar in my blood then today I do not need insulin? I am here, right now. Forget about past records. Just take a look at the present. If there are leak in my brain? Do I have stroke right now? Do I need medical attention and to be admitted to IU? In stead, Eric Topol pretend that if in ER they do have my records of all past medical problem it would safe my life.
This is Most Innovative Thinking our Modern Medicine. As it is all in his own tweet, Modern Medicine is all about Billing, and nothing about Our Health.
