Blood Circulation and Venous Insufficiency. February 9, 2018

This blog in constant development. I do not try to educate anyone, or help anyone how to deal with diabetes type 2. I only share my info, and most for my own use. In this blog there are links to interesting webs and articles. Someone are interesting because of important info. Most of them interesting only by absurd of publication.
Right now I do have biggest problem with heart and Venous Insufficiency. This is why I try to find all info which I can use to keep my legs on place where they belong. I spend time and money to find what I need. So, I share this with others who is interesting. If one is not interesting in info then leave me alone. This blog is not for you. I do not come to read what you post, so do not come to my place.
     Stasis dermatitis
Stasis dermatitis is skin inflammation that develops in people with poor circulation. It most often occurs in the lower legs because that’s where blood typically collects.
The condition can be developed over many years before finally it would be diagnosed. Usually condition, even already diagnosed stay out of to be treated. Most often because of it is swelling, water pills, diuretics would be Rx. It does not help. Disease progress to the level when there is not possible to delay treatment anymore. Very often treatment also wrong, or not effective.
Poor circulation causes stasis dermatitis. Typically, poor circulation is the result of a chronic (long-term) condition called venous insufficiency. Venous insufficiency occurs when your veins have trouble sending blood to your heart.
The cause of venous insufficiency can be  Congestive heart failure. This condition rarely diagnosed and rarely treated. At least I do not have effective treatment for my heart, or diagnose that I do have this condition. I am sure, I am not only one in this position.
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a chronic progressive condition that affects the pumping power of your heart muscles. While often referred to simply as “heart failure,” CHF specifically refers to the stage in which fluid builds up around the heart and causes it to pump inefficiently.
As it is easy to see, it is all about water. Water build up, and stay inside. The result is our severe obesity. It is not obesity when we can be mobile or active. We cannot stand because of pain in legs, or walk for long. It is nice if we can walk around apartment. To go outside it to difficult. So, we lost our activity.
The treatment for this condition is very expensive. Most insurance companies do not pay for this treatement. we can buy it without Rx, so there is no need in coverage. Really?
Unna-Z Boots, with Calamine bandages. $9.11 for one roll. One wrap can stay on place up to 7 days, but not always 7 days. Sometimes it is so painful, that there is no way just take it off, let legs to rest, and then apply another wrap. I could not stay in these boots at first time when in Wound Care Center nurse wrapped my legs. At the time I got home I no longer could wear that wrap.It is OK when with short time edema going down and swelling decreases. What if there is another way? What if swelling still increase? Then there is no way but take off Boots, and re-wrap the swelling legs. If legs still out of wrap they got bigger and bigger. With wrap finally swelling slow down and longer and longer Boots can stay on place.
Unna Boots are special compression bandage with Zing Oxide and Calamine. I prefer to use boots with Calamine. It is possible to have them without Camaline. Camaline prevent skin from irritating and etching.
Above Unna Boots goes Wrap. It can be different wraps, with clips and self closer, or Self Adherent bandages. Clips usually do not work very good. Especially if Edema in stage of development. To use tape is not good idea. Skin under tape getting irritated, red, and broken. New wounds developing. I used pins. It is not good idea, but it was all what I could find for that time.
      3M Coban Wrap 1584
4" * 5 yd.  18 count in box. Amazon. $42.78. $2.35 each roll.
Someone use one roll as long as it works. It can be used up to 7 days. Usually not too many people use it for so long. Some people, myself including, use one roll a few times. So, I can use one roll up to 7 days. My man usually re-wrap my legs every other day.
Two legs. Every day. Day after day. For someone treatment can be done up to two month. For others treatment last up to 6 month. I wrap my legs full year, and there is no ens in the closer look. Do you math, how mach it would cost to safe own legs.
To get treatemnt a little bit cheaper people use EverReady First Aid Sefl Adherent Cohensive bandages. 4" * 5 yd. 18 count Amazon $24.95.
There are a lot of good review for this bandages. What I see, the weight is different. It is 1.8 Lb for EverReady and 2.35 Lb for 3M Coban. What does it mean? I do not know I never used EverReady. What I see, when I use 3M Coban I do have allergy on my body. The same my man has on his hands. Probably it is because of Latex.
