By comparing β-cells from healthy and type 2 diabetic individuals, the researchers found that the problem lies in the attachment of the insulin vesicles to the cell membrane. In diabetic β-cells, arrival of new vesicles at the cell membrane is dramatically slowed, which is likely due to a reduction in several of the proteins responsible for their attachment at the cell membrane. As a consequence, new insulin vesicles cannot assemble their secretion machinery and the amount of insulin that reaches the body is insufficient.Very important study. Now what for me? What I suppose to do? Do I need to stop to take medicine I take right now because of possible it is wrong medicine, Invokana for instance? Do I have to stay on medicine I take Such as Metformin and SU because of a new medicine would be on market only in future and I need it right now? Really, there are a lot of publications with explanation what is wrong with diabetes type 2, still, there is no not only cure but no effective treatment, why?
The hope is now that the report can guide the development of new treatments for type-2 diabetes.

400 million people effected with medical condition known as Diabetes type 2. 400 million people presented that we all just lazy and careless, eat wrong and spend our lives in front of TV. Say me, who is working? Say me, how all those 400 millions do living? Do not pretend we do have SSI, we do not. Diabetes is not medical condition which give us qualification for disability. At the same time we cannot work as it is healthy people. We are not healthy.
Now, what is the treatment for all of us, 400 millions? Ask ADA. They publish recommendations each year, and recently a new recommendations for 2018 were published. What is first line treatment? Life style Modifications. From first visit to any clinic to the last breath of our bodies we are treated with demand to modify our lives. Regardless I do want it or not, I do modify my life. If in past I loved to hike then now I use scooter to get to The Metropolitan Opera house. I cannot walk to my seat from gate. So simple. Do I like this modifications? I do not. Do I use these modifications? Yes, I do. I am very very happy to have my scooter. At least I can be outside of my apartment, go to Lincoln Center and listen to the music I love so. I even can go to medical appointments right now.
Diabetes type 2 progressive medical condition. With time we got down deeper and deeper. Why? Really, why this is so? The answer all the time is the same, we do not use doctors recommendations and do not eat right. What if these recommendations are wrong? What if therapy MD Rx to us is wrong from the first day after our diagnose? All those recommendations put into grave millions of us. Why do not try another way to treat diabetes type 2? Just start with insulin as first line of therapy. Today it is all available. There are many very good types of insulin to chose from. Life style cannot be given with Rx. It is only recommendations. MD must provide treatment, medicine. No one need to go to doctor to ask if one wish to go to fitness club.
BTW, if I would ask my doctor do I have to go to fitness club, would MD give me official RX to work out? Not at all. I do have heart problems. So, no one MD would officially recommend to work out for me. Still, regardless how danger or not work out for me, life style modifications is number one therapy for diabetic type 2, myself including.
