The excess fluid in the lymph vessels is eventually returned to the bloodstream. When the lymph vessels are blocked or unable to carry lymph fluid away from the tissues, localized swelling (lymphedema) is the result. Lymphedema most often affects a single arm or leg, but in uncommon situations both limbs are affected. There are some treatments available to address to this medical condition. There is no cure. With time condition can get worse. Usually it is difficult to get diagnosed with edema, or any water retention. There is only weight which taken into consideration. No one question asked about how numb our legs or arms. We get bulling that it is only food which lead to weight gain. There is no difference in weight if it is from meal or it is water retention. Pounds are the same. Bathroom scale does not separate water from fat or any weigh gain due to wrong eating.

There is another treatment option which usually used to treat edema. Diuretics. It also does not work. Diuretics destroy heart and kidney. it does not treat or cure edema. Our watered bodies getting bigger and bigger till legs and arms start to develop wounds. Usually it is legs. This condition leads to amputation. Amputation also does not solve the problem. Pain still unbearaible. This type of pain is Photome Pain, when pain in the part of body already amputated. Amputation also does not solve the problems with water retention and wounds development. Wound opened in different part of the body, on another leg, or higher then amputated area.
LAst time I was in hospital with severe edema on both legs, with opened wounds on both legs, all what I got just a few tests which confirm I do not have one or another health problem, and sometimes my legs were dressed. Not wrapped by wound care specialist, but dressed by nurse who is not educated how to wrap legs effected by lymphedema. Dressing got down almost as soon as nurse left. Wounds are opened. Fluid run out or wound. Wet dress would not stay on place.
I worked as home aide. I worked with different patients. Usually those who are really very very sick. Many of them were on hospice care. So, I saw how nurses dressed wounded legs. How they care for wounds or patients with dried wounds. I was in shock what I saw. One my patient diabetic type 2 lady was amputate. Two times daily nurses come to dress her wounds. They used type to hold dressing. All of them used types. Two times daily, day after day they pulled type off skin, and she cried out very loudly. When I look today on my leg I just in shock I will have the same wound care nurses. They would pull off dressing together with my skin. Sorry. Too much to think about it.
At the same time, there are no need to use type. Just no need in this type of dressing. There are many other way to dress wounds. Type left effected area all the time in rush and extremely painful and sensitive. I tried many different types, no one worked. But sleeve, cotton slow compressing sleeve does the job. It hold dressing in place, and there is no need in any type. When this sleeve must be removed it does not effect leg or any spot on the skin.
The question is, why so many nurses used type and no one used sleeve? What they really do know about medicine and nursing? Just think about it, every day day after day, month after month type attached to the skin, and pulled off, twice a day.
Ether my man nether I do know about medicine too much. But it is my life, and my man care if I still alive and functional. So, I go to Amazon and try to see what is an new on medical market. This is how I found that really I do have Lymphedema. Really I do need compression device to try to get rid of water. The question is, why my PC did not see it in hospital? Why I was sent out in the same condition I was admitted, and why there were no compression but only attempt to dress my wounds? Dressing does not work. As soon as wounds are dressed they get wet and all dressing dropping down.
I am smart. I did find Wounds Care clinic, and soon after wounds dry out. Since I use compressing. I buy on Amazon one wrap after another, and try to get best which works for me.
