Day-by-day. March 12, 2018

Every one do know what is level of blood sugar considered to be 'normal'. When we ask what level of sugar abnormally low, fatally low, or fatally high, there is no one answer to this questions. Every one MD would say different numbers and to switch discussion or pretend to be very busy and finish the visit. When I suppose to go to ER with high blood sugar or low blood sugar? There is no one education for this matter. There is no one education when and how to check urine for ketosis. No any education for that. Why? Diabetes is number 7 cause of death in America. Why there is no education what to do if sugar is not simple over 200 mg/dl after meal, but over 400 mg/dl fasting. What I suppose to do with these numbers? Once I went to ER. No insulin shot. No any treatment. I was diagnosed with some sort of flu, and sent home. Patients from left side and right side were admitted to hospital. I was sent home. This was my local hospital, Coney Island. The same treatment in any other hospital I visited. Simple, go home. Loose weight. List of table with food I have to eat, and Rx life style modifications. Usually it was Metformin added as medicine.
Most important, there never was test for ketosis. I am type 2 diabetic. It is considered that we do not have ketosis, so there is no need to check up urine. How they do know that diabetics type 2 do not have ketosis? They never test it, so there is no data that we do have ketosis. So, diabetic type 2 do not have ketosis. Simple and brilliant.
Every time we come to any medical clinic at first time our urine tested for STD. There never test on level of sugar in our blood. Really why? With so high diabetes population undiagnosed with diabetes why no one MD check up patient for diabetes? It is only one glucose strip, just less then $1. There is no need in special screening those who are at risk, and never develop diabetes. Just make blood sugar reading vital, and that's it.
Many diabetics do not want to be diagnosed with diabetes. OK, No one wish to be diagnosed as Alcoholic. Those patient have privacy, and their diagnose never posted on any records. If it is for those who need medical clearance for work, there are separate medical company which do screening, and those company do all tests regardless what diagnose one do has. So, why if one does not want to have diagnose of diabetes in own medical record, let it be so. Treatment for diabetes also can be under privacy policy.
Now back to low blood sugar. When sugar is 'low'? No one really can say these numbers. In article I recently red it was said that every diabetic type 2 do have low blood sugar episod a few times during the years. LOLOLOL. I am diabetic type 2. I do have pretty often low blood sugar, every month, countless every year. And still I cannot say, what is number when blood sugar is 'low'. I feel it differently every time.
Right now I do have one day after another level of sugar 42- 46 mg/dl. This is really low blood sugar. But....., every time there is 'but' I do not feel it as 'low'. There is no extreme hunger, or shake, or sweating, nothing like that. I am perfectly normal. Only because of I do not trust in my feeling and check blood sugar as routine, my meter show too low number, and I take action. Is this good? Is this too bad for me that I do not feel low sugar and so I can skip into fatally low? I do not know yet. This is just fact. Juts a few weeks ago I had so low sugar that I was not able to eat, my man must feed me. I could not hold the spoon. Sugar was much higher then now.
I posted, I am in very complicated stage right now. It is so different the it was before. Just in February the dose of insulin got higher, from 300 units to 600 units. Fast and unexpected. I never even try to increase dose of insulin so fast and so high. Now I do. Highest dose I injected was 740 units, but it was only once. Now it is 610 units, two pens daily.
