Yesterday I posted about this Do-It-Yourself insulin delivery system. I also tried to say, it is the next Dr.Oz who sale 11 days diabetes type 2 destroyer system. Every one like Free Big Money. What we can do about it? Avoid to be Fished. Do not take the hook. It is only way to survive.
It is sad, this Con Men use trusted e-journal to caught the fish, diabetics type 2 who try to get off the hook. So, they angered another hook. The choice is yours. DIY.
It is very easy to buy that some code or algorithm can do the job for us. It is so difficult to do this job by ourselves. Most important, we trust in every one, but never in ourselves. They are Doctors! They do know how! What they do know how is only one. They know where to put net and pull net full of fish.
OK, why this system, code, or algorithm will not fork?
The main idea is that if we do know the level of sugar in right moment, and this job done by continuous glucose monitoring, then we can create curve how to reduce this level of sugar when it is abnormally high.
There are other components which are missed.
level of sugar in blood in this moment. We do know level of glucose in blood. We do not know the level of insulin in blood. We do not know the level of insulin stored in Beta Cells ready to be used at any moment when it is needed. We do not know how much insulin and sugar will be taken by our system to do routine job: push blood, spread lungs, and so so on. This is job which done by our body system continuously. We have no one idea how much energy, sugar and insulin and process to convert sugar into energy, will take. We do not know how much energy needed to control body temperature, to fight and virus and bacteria which is already in our system. Our Immune System guard us without stopping 24/7. How much energy it uses? No one do know.
There are a few components which must be put into algorithm. There are more then that. I do not think it is anything new what I try to say why DIY insulin pumping system cannot work. Probably in future it would be possible to create algorithm like that. But it is not possible to do today.
There are another way to go. It is simple. Every one must DIY. Of cause if one care for health and well being yourself and family.
Simple glucose meter is good to be used. There is no need for expensive continuous glucose monitoring. Most MD will give it to patient for free. Why? Cost of monitor is relatively not expensive. Strips can be used only for the this particular monitor. So, cost of strips is high. Company easy to give monitors for free. It is promotion. After patient run out of strips, one will pay high to buy them.
Insulin can be used with different delivery system. Old and effective way to administer Insulin with needles. I have no one idea what they sale when they suggest to use close-up system. Does this system delivery insulin in time intervals, or as in many systems like that diabetic must push bottom, I do not know. What I do know that there is no need in delivery insulin in small amount in time intervals. Even for diabetic like myself, with very high dose of insulin, and I injected as many as 720 units withing 24 hours, small continuous amount administration of insulin is not effective.
Every time when it is presented that someone do-know-how, it is in public mind that level of sugar and level of insulin in system in direct dependency:sugar is such high then add this number of insulin units. Easy to say, not possible to do. It is easy to do when sugar is just little bit elevated. With this situation sugar will not drop low, too low. Then higher sugar level then lower it drop with every unit of insulin. Diabetic type 2 ride on high-low swings. Both sides can be deadly.
The question is, how DIY system will do the job? This system does not operate with level of insulin in blood. It is machine, and not really sophisticated.
There are two doctors who sale this scrap. The same as Dr. Oz on high stage.Money do not smell. They do not left blood on bloody MD hand.
