I ask every one doctor to Rx coumadin for me. It was denied all the time. The most important cause was, that I do not have this medically need. Why? What does in mean? When I will be qualified for to have this medicine? Usually there is no answer. I still searching. I try to see if this medicine is essential for my needs. And there we are.
Warfarin is part of necessary medicine for those with Deep Vein Thrombosis, with Pulmonary Embolism, and to prevent stroke. So, this medicine is essential for my treatment and must be in my medical box.
There are problem. As every strong and effective medicine, warfarin has side effect, bleeding. Also it is very difficult to find out dose if this medicine to take. The result is, most of us do not have medicine we need, and we have a lot of medicine which is not necessary for our health.
I already posted, I do have DVT, and to fight embolism and to prevent amputation I use to wrap my legs. Only this help me to keep my limbs. But Warfarin is not in my medical box.
I do have Pulmonary Embolism, the condition when water stay between cells. Lungs whistle with every breath I take. Sometimes it is so bad that I hardly able to breath. Why warfarin is not in my medical box? I see, I do have all qualifications for this medicine to be Rx-ed. I do have no doctor who will prescribe this medicine.
What I did find that warfarin can be taken under self-management, and under self-testing. I am OK to go to clinic to test blood, and I am OK to take all responsibility. I am very observing person. I can feel when something going wrong. Most important, bleeding is the way too complicated to avoid. Without warfarin I do still have bleeding. So, what is the reason to do not take medicine which will help me to still on my feet? No reason.
I canseled appointment with dr who treat me for DVT. Why do I need him? He sent me to take test, which was no needed.
"It is not far from here,- he said, -just next building."
Very fanny. My legs were unwrapped and puss run from open wounds. Of cause it is not so far for one who is comfortable to walk. Try to walk when legs does not work. Every step is the problem. We took that test. My man wrapped my legs. In hospital where clinic was located and my doctor worked there were no one who would wrap patient opened wounds. I live in NYC. I think in any country clinic I would have better treatment then I was given in NYC. Doctor is handsome. No extra pounds. Why do I need that doctor? He is not a doctor in any mean.
The same as many doctor before him I asked about warfarin.
"No. It is very danger medicine, " - he answered.
So, if I stay without medicine this is not any danger for me? Really, what MD is talking about?

Anticoagulation therapy for very old adults is an important clinical concern with regard to the frailty of elderly adults and their greater bleeding risk. Now, if warfarin is safe for person over 85 years old, then why it is not safe for me? I am under 70, and I started to ask warfaring more then 10 years ago. Probably if at that time in stead of Metformin and Glipizide there were other medications in my medical box such as Insulin and warfarin then probably I would not take now 720 units of insulin and have no DVT with risk to amputation both legs below knee. But Insulin the same as warfarin is highly effective medicine, so it is out of our treatment regime.
