The place to look for diabetes is in the relatives of diabetics, and especially in the children of diabetics, and especially of conjugal diabetics. What is obviously needed is a cohort of such children and a suitable control cohort, followed from the day of birth with respect to all important parameters may recognized as pertinent to diabetes. Since important parameters may remain to be defined, or improved methods of assay may became available, every time blood is drown, an liquid should be put down in liquid nitrogen. I am aware of preliminary step to establish such a cohort in several centers, but nine go far enough or start early enough. the task is perhaps too large for anyone center and calls for a collaborative effort.is there any other way to establish with accuracy the primary lesson and the sequence of event in diabetes? (page 7)Well, what are those studies suppose to be for? Even in best way as author present his hypothesis he can it work? Not really. Why? As it is pointed in the same article by the same author, the heredity of diabetes was not accurately established. So, part of this diabetics' children will not have diabetes but in control cohort there would be diabetics who suppose to be non diabetics. With this point, what really author pretend to study? $$$$$$ As it was said by author, it is very expensive project, and who suppose to get most of it cost?
100 years ago the treatment for diabetes, most effective therapy ever was found. Insulin. Now what? In 1980 95% of diabetics were pushed out of effective therapy and became lab rats. We were studied what caused diabetes, or , better to say, how get most from diabetics population. When treatment for TB, consumption at that time, was finally found, mostly ill patients were treated at first, to prevent death, because of those who was in better state still have time to weight for treatment.
It is very different with diabetes. Actually, with diabetes everything is different. In stead to prolong life, diabetics were stopped to be be treated with insulin and most ugly and dirty propaganda replaced insulin by Barking Therapy and Junk Medicine.
Above author present how to find or at least to try to find early parameters for diabetes development. Article was published back in 1970. Today it is nothing to study early parameters in diabetes development. Most popular is how to prevent diabetes type 2, diabetes type 95% of diabetic's population. What to eat? How many spoons of soup to take in dinner? How many glasses of vine to take at supper? and so so on. What is no one study, how insulin effective compare with any or every one oral agent to treat diabetes. Why?
There is Metformin study how this oral anti-diabetic agent prevent MI and cancer. There is Invokana which reduce blood sugar by kidney, and no one really studied for how long kidney would be able to hold. SU of cause is most effective therapy. Less then withing 10 years diabetics occupy widest coffin. But there is no any studies, if Insulin taken to treat obese diabetic type 2 then how long diabetic will live? Would diabetic be able to control blood sugar level and bring it down to the non diabetic level? Depending on what dose of insulin based? What parameters apply to count insulin resistance? BTW, insulin resistance, what is it? There is no way that insulin level needed to be found, so how it was found that there is too much of insulin in body of diabetic type 2?
