Ozempic Approved for Type 2 Diabetes. December 9, 2017

TRENTON, N.J. — U.S. regulators on Tuesday approved a new diabetes drug that reduces blood sugar levels and also helps people lose significant weight. Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk said the Food and Drug Administration approved its once-a-week shot for people with Type 2 diabetes. The drug, Ozempic, also known as semaglutide, works by stimulating the body's own insulin production and reducing appetite.

What really this medicine for? To lose weight, which still come back soon after studies stopped. And if participant did not lose weight this one would be terminated from studies. Also is this really true that blood sugar dropped in person with diabetes type 2? Of cause not. If one has 120 mg/dl fasting probably it works. I do not know it. But if diabetic type 2 with sugar level 599 mg/dl in blood then sorry this sugar would not go down but up and up with this type of medicine. So, this type diabetic type 2 would not be on trail. But still, we are type 2 diabetics, and this medicine will be in our medical box. Really what for?
Over 56 weeks, patients who got a lower dose of Ozempic lost an average of 9.5 pounds (4.3 kilograms) while those who got a higher dose lost 13.5 pounds (6.1 kilograms). The patients who took Januvia lost an average of 4 pounds (1.9 kilograms).
Probably it is good to lose weight. What if weight is edema, water retention? It is all the time taken for granted that diabetics type 2 take too much unhealthy food. No one remember, it is thirst, big water retention, which is the cause we have never healing wounds. Till water start to go away wounds will not heal. So, why do I need to decreas appetite? With high level of sugar in blood there is no appetite. The thirst is high, as high that I hold three Gl of water next on my bed just for night. I all the time need water refilled after I take it many times during the night. The few plastic bottles is next on my deck, on the table where I do eat. I can forget I need to eat, no appetite, but I cannot forget to drink water. Water, no soda or any other drink, just plane water. In big quantity.
It is usually told we do have frequent urination. It never said when and what does it mean. Now I have to go very often. There still no output. No water release. Water still inside. Pounds jump over the sky. Legs are puffy, face swelled, hands are heavy and do not hold simple light objects such as spoon. This is edema, water retention, cause of high weight. Really no appetite.
The 1,200 study participants were also taking one or two standard diabetes medicines.
What medicine participants took? Insulin is standard medicine. If they took insulin then of cause they improved blood sugar reading. Why not? And then it is presented that Ozemic is good for diabetics type 2, it is improve blood sugar readings. Then after FDA approved granted, insulin taken out of the standard treatment and only Ozemic left. Once a week injection. Would it work? Lets creators of this Junk try to control own blood sugar with this Junk Medicine. I prefer to take insulin, and no need in Ozemic. I can live with 400 Lbs. I cannot live without insulin.
The new drug comes in injector pens and costs about the same as similar weekly drugs: $676 for a four- to six-week supply without insurance. Novo Nordisk already sells a similar once-a-day shot, Victoza.
How many of us will spend $676 on any Junk? No one, I am sure in this. Then why for Junk Medicine it is acceptable? Junk is the same, if it Junk food or Junk dress, Junk Medicine or Junk service. No one need Junk in any mean of it. For this money I can buy from 7 to 9 pens of Lantus Solo Star. For most diabetics type 2 it would be month or even three month supply. Good medicine which reduce complications and lead ti significant improve in life.
Ozempic will compete with other popular once-a-week drugs in the same class, including Eli Lilly and Co.'s Trulicity and AstraZeneca PLC's Bydureon, which don't produce as much weight loss. However, they all carry warnings about possible serious side effects, including kidney damage and inflammation of the pancreas. They also may be linked to thyroid cancer, so people taking all drugs in the class are being followed via a patient registry.
Sorry guys. Not all diabetic medicine carry these warning. Insulin can be used as long as it needed, even for the rest of diabetic's life. So, what is the reason to take trash medicine? Anyway. it is not my choice. I will never take it.  Without this trash I probably will somehow survive. With this Junk I will gone in suffering and pain. Thank you so much. Not for me.
